Elsewhere: The Cheer Vault Opens in Former M&T Bank Building in Corfu
Nov. 3, 2026
The empty M&T Bank building at 1 E. Main St. in Corfu has a new life as The Cheer Vault, home of the Pembroke Youth Association’s cheer program, The Batavian reported Sunday, Nov. 1. The association and the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting there Friday, Oct. 30.
Volunteers and parents spent the spring and summer readying the space, removing the old teller counter and installing a spring floor. Before the move, the program squeezed practices into school gym time, which grew scarce during capital project work at Pembroke Central.
Pembroke families get first priority, but the winter competitive season, which runs from mid-November to April, is open to others once those spots are filled. Organizers told The Batavian that kids from Alden have already taken part. A community tumbling program is open to anyone, and schedules are posted on The Vault’s Facebook page.
