Simple terms for using aldenecho.com and buying print or digital access from The Alden Echo (Alden Echo LLC). This is not legal advice.

The site

The Alden Echo publishes local news for Alden, New York and nearby towns. Content is for personal, non-commercial reading unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please do not scrape the site, break into accounts, or misuse forms.

Accounts

You need a working email and password to register. Keep your password private.
Free accounts include a limited number of articles (see the site for the current meter).
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.

Subscriptions and payments

Paid digital and print plans are billed through Stripe on the schedule shown at checkout (monthly or yearly).
Print copies are mailed to your door by USPS. We mail to US addresses only.
Prices can change; we will show the price before you pay. Taxes may apply where required.
You can cancel future renewals through Stripe's customer portal or by contacting us. Charges already processed are generally not refunded except where we made an error or the law requires it.

Contact forms and tips

Tips and messages should be truthful to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit anyone else's private information without a good reason related to a news tip. We may decline to publish or respond.

Advertising

Advertisers follow the commitment and rates on the Advertise pages. Artwork and claims must comply with applicable law. We may refuse or remove ads.

Disclaimers

We aim for accuracy and will correct errors when we learn of them. The site and paper are provided as available. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the site, to the extent the law allows. New York law governs these terms; venue is in Erie County, New York, unless the law requires otherwise.
