Giving thanks

With Thanksgiving approaching, what better time to give thanks to God? If you travel to NYC, you must take the LIRR out to Montauk. You won’t regret it: the ocean, the sunrise and sunset, and the power of God. If you can, go whale watching too. And to top it off, there’s fine dining.
Now for giving thanks to God. Approximately three and a half years ago, I was at the doctor’s office for a checkup, not feeling so hot. After a blood test and a checkup, my doctor said, “You have diabetes, you lost weight and your numbers are high. We need to do more tests.” Lo and behold, I was told I had pancreatic cancer. If he hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known I was sick. That’s why it’s so important for men and women to go to the doctor once every one or two years.
Now for the Thanksgiving part. With God and modern technology, I’m on the mend. No side effects from chemo, and I’m on the road to recovery. Stable. Doing good after three and a half years. So let’s be thankful this Thanksgiving for all that we have. Have a happy, healthy Thanksgiving. Don’t worry, God is in control.
To the Editor, my good friend and new family.
Amen
